South African boxer Dingaan Thobela, ‘The Rose of Soweto,’ dies aged 57

JOHANNESBURG — South African boxer Dingaan Thobela, a two-weight world champion known as “The Rose of Soweto,” has died, the ministry of sports said on Tuesday. He was 57.
