Shirley Mae Gurski

Shirley Mae Gurski 83, of Springfield, died at 2:24 am, Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Vonderlieth Living Center in Mt. Pulaski, Il. She was born September 28, 1938 in Taylorville, to Herbert and Ida Mae Cook Humphrey. She married John David Gurski in 1990 and he survives.

Also surviving are one son, Wayne Truax of Springfield; daughter-in-law, Lisa Truax of Sherman; four grandchildren Kristy Kutzora, Ryan Truax, Shelby Truax and Erin Truax; one great grandchild, Adeline and one great-great grandchild, Hayden Truax; five sisters, Alice Bell, Rosie Libben, Joyce Barnett; Mary Courtney and Jeannie Brodie; three brothers, David, Darrel and Larry Humphrey; one sister-in-law, Carol Humphrey and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, David Truax; one sister, Sara Cook and one brother, Tom Humphrey.

Shirley retired from Franklin Life Insurance Company where she worked in Accounts Payable.

She was a member of Eagles and Lady Elks and bowled for many years at the King Pins Lanes.

Private services will be held.
