Shirley L. Hanson

Shirley L. “Sue” Hanson, age 85 of Plano, IL passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 14, 2024. She was born on March 27, 1938 in Holcomb, MO the daughter of Willard and Reba (Ames) Storey.
Sue was united in marriage on November 17, 1956 to Peter L. Hanson and spent the next 57 years happily together until his passing on January 31, 2014. She was a longtime member of the Plano Methodist Church in Plano, IL. Sue worked as a secretary at the Plano Methodist Church while her children were young and then at Fox Valley Older Adult Services. She retired from Law Title in Sandwich, IL after many years of employment. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Lori (Dave) Bragg of Hilliard, OH, Teri (Steve) Haws of Delavan, WI, and Pam Hanson of Plano, IL; her nine grandchildren, Nikki, Andrew, Austin, Max, Missy, Alec, Devin, Brooke, and Jill; her ten grandchildren who lovingly called her “Little Grandma”, Ethan, Logan, Kaylan, Delaney, Elizabeth, Dalton, Harper, CJ, Hudson, and Woodsly; and her brother, Alton Storey of Rochelle, IL.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Reba Storey; her husband, Peter Hanson; her son, Steven Hanson; and her grandson, Adam Bugbee.
Private Family Services will be held.
