Sherry F. Wessels

Sherry, age 74, of Lansing, MI, passed away August 4, 2021, following a
short Illness. She was born December 28, 1946, in DeKalb IL, to the late
Delbert “Keith” and Shirley (Olson) Gordon.
Sherry is survived by her children: Brent (Jan) Wessels, Bad Axe, MI,
Scott (Mindy) Wessels, Bentonville, AR, and Jodi Hedger (Ron Devree),
Portland, MI; grandchildren: Cody (Molly) Wessels, Taryn Wessels,
Cameron Wessels, Kadyn Wessels, Avery Wessels, Tyler Hower, and
Ashton Hower; great-grandchildren: Tate Wessels and Tanner Wessels; 3
nephews and 1 niece; stepmother, Doris Gordon, Grand Rapids, MI;
special sister-in-law, Karin Gordon, Waterman, IL; and many wonderful
dear friends and co-workers.
She was predeceased by her parents, Delbert and Shirley Gordon; sister
and brother-in-law, Sandra (Dennis) Simmons; brother, Kevin Gordon;
and great-nephew, Aaron Jackson.
Sherry was a graduate of Waterman High School, Waterman, IL, and
later attended Grand Rapids School of Bible and Music. She received her
LPN Nursing Degree from St. Clair Nursing School, and retired from
Sparrow Hospital, Lansing, MI. She was currently working as an EEG
Tech and Clinical Research Coordinator at MSU Neurology Department.
Sherry was an active member of South Church, Lansing, MI where she
served as a Deaconess.
Sherry dearly loved her family and especially her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She will be greatly missed. Sherry was an amazing and
thoughtful person and especially a devoted true friend.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the North Clinton Cemetery in Waterman, IL.
