Sherri Lynn Hunker-Longenette

Sherri Lynn Hunker-Longenette, 52, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at her home.
A daughter of Debra (Mowls) Garabrandt and the late Thomas Hunker, Sherri was born January 16, 1969 at Dover, Ohio.
Sherri graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1987. During her school years she was active in gymnastics, cheerleading and the dance squad. Following her graduation, Sherri attended the Airline Academy in Kissimmee, Florida.
She was a well-known bartender and waitress having formerly worked at Don Pancho’s at New Philadelphia and Rey’s Route 62 Bar and Grill at Alliance. Most recently she worked at Twice Treasured in downtown New Philadelphia. Sherri also served as a caregiver for many years.
Sherri will also be remembered for her artistic talents of drawing and painting as well as for her love of celebrating Halloween.
She is survived by her mother Debbie (John Vaughan) Garabrandt; her daughter, Summer (fiancé, Ross Greiner) Longenette; a sister, Samantha (Skip) Hanenkrat; a brother, Josh (Leigh Ann) Hunker; an aunt, Sheila (Al) Amos; cousins, Jim Couch, Pam (Craig) Outman and Steve (Kristie) Amos along with many other extended family members and dear friends.
Sherri was preceded in death by her father; both sets of her grandparents and an aunt, Gladys Campbell.
In keeping with Sherri’s wishes, cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A memorial service celebrating Sherri’s life will be held on July 14, 2021 at 7 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Greg Clay officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. prior to the service.
