Sandra Leutwyler, 74, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, of Glen Rose, Texas, passed away early on Wednesday, January 11, 2023.
Visitation will be held from 1 until 2 P.M., Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the Wiley Funeral Chapel, 504 Holden Street, in Glen Rose. Funeral services celebrating her life will follow at 2 P.M., Saturday, at the funeral home, followed by a committal service at Ward Branch Cemetery.
Sandra was born on December 16, 1948, in Matador, Texas to Berry and Jimmie Ruth Barham. On March 6, 1987, Sandra married Young Leutwyler. She was a beautician for many years working mostly at the Vogue Beauty Salon in Glen Rose. A devout Christian, Sandra was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Glen Rose and enjoyed ministering as part of the Sunshine Girls to nursing home residents in Glen Rose and surrounding counties. She and her husband, Young, enjoyed taking road trips visiting numerous states in the USA. Most of all, Sandra will be remembered for her love for her family and particularly she “lived for her grandchildren.”
Sandra is survived by her husband, Young; her children, Shane and wife Leeann Tipton and Jennifer and husband Jason Evartt; her grandchildren, Rendon Wood, Denver Tipton, Halee Wilson, Elizabeth Warren, Aaron McClelen, Jacob Leutwyler, Keeana Morgan, and Kane Evartt; several great-grandchildren; her brother, Doyle Walker; her special friend, Connie McDonald; and by her many relatives, many, many friends.
In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her sisters, Barbara and Donna Barham.
