Samuel “Bob”  Parrigan

Samuel Bob Parrigan, 85, of Shelby, Ohio passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Crestwood Care Center. He was born in Wayland, Kentucky on February 23, 1936 to the late McKinley and Lula Mae (Viers) Parrigan.

Bob attended Alice Lloyd College in Kentucky. He met his wife, Patty, in school and were married on December 31, 1955. Together they started a family and moved to Shiloh, Ohio where they remained and raised their children. Bob worked at Ohio Steel Tube in Shelby. He attended many religious congregations throughout his life; he was a song leader and enjoyed reading the Bible with his family. Bob had a collection of cuckoo clocks and was an avid fan of the Kentucky Wildcats. Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Bob is survived by his children, Lois Ellen (Rev. Dr. Richard) Lafferty of Las Vegas, Nevada and Robert (Suzanne) Parrigan of Shelby, Ohio; niece, Belinda (Gary) Runyon of Mansfield, Ohio; grandchildren, Rev. Joel (Christy) Lafferty of New Jersey, and Jordyn (Clayton) Paratore of Fairport Harbor, OH; great-granddaughters, Mercy and Dayne; and many other close family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and six brothers; cousin, Hazel “Bobbie” Inmon; and in-laws, Norman and Mint Hale.

Per Bob’s wishes, no services will be held at this time. Memorial contributions can be given in Bob’s honor to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1021 Dauch Dr, Ashland, OH 44805. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family.
