Ruth E. Laser McCusker

Ruth E. Laser McCusker, 81, of Mansfield, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022.
Ruth was born on October 5, 1940 in Mansfield, Ohio, and was the daughter of Glenn Laser and Gifta (Long) McClenathan. She was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High and Mansfield Business College. Ruth was a lifelong member of the Freedom Ridge Church formerly Ontario Free Methodist Church. She greatly enjoyed participation in Bible Studies. She enjoyed reading, loving her pets and crocheting. She retired from Volunteers of America, and she gave her time freely as a volunteer at MedCentral Hospital. In spite of her physical limitations, Ruth lived her life the way that she wanted to. She was a model of hope and perseverance to everyone that she came in contact with.
She is survived by a brother, David (Susan) Lee McClenathan; a sister, Maryalice Laser Meadows; her nieces and nephews, Frank (Beth) Meadows, Becky (Paul) Meadows Van Valin, Barbara Meadows, Mark (Shawn) Laser, Chris (Ryan) McClenathan, Philip (Katy) McClenathan, and Scott (Susan) McClenathan; and numerous great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis “Tony” McCusker; her brother, Charles A. Laser; and her step father, Jay McClenathan.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Country Meadows Care Center for the excellent care given to Ruth in her later years of life.
Ruth will be laid to rest with her husband privately at Mansfield Cemetery. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family of Ruth McCusker.
