Ruth Ann “Rudi” Roach

Ruth Ann Roach, 80, of Sherman, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital. She was born on August 8, 1941, in Effingham, the daughter of Leo and Josephine (Hartke) Ludwig. She married Ronnie Joe Roach on September 2, 1961 and he preceded her in death on February 22, 2005.

She is also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Lloyd and Robert Ludwig.

Survivors include her two children, Michael Roach of Rochester and Lianne (Alan) Lowe of Knoxville, TN; four grandchildren, Megan (Jordan) Powell, Aaron (fiancée, Jessica Campbell) Gantt, Joe Roach, and Annie (fiancé, Nathan Cathey) Gantt; two great-grandchildren, Kinley and Hadley Powell; four siblings, Kenne (Jeanne) Ludwig of Florida, Norma (Ed) Grunloh of Wisconsin, Gerald (Diana) Ludwig of Effingham, and Leo (Jennifer) Ludwig of Florida; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ludwig of Effingham and Judy Ludwig of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.

Ruth was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed playing Mahjong, Bunco and dominoes. Ruth retired as a manager from Bergners.

Memorial Gathering: 9:30 am – 11:30 am, Monday, June 13, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Sherman.

Memorial Service: 11:30 am, Monday, June 13, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Sherman with Reverend Trenton Rauck officiating.
