Clarksdale, Missouri…Russell Dewayne “Wayne” Collins, age 60, was born October 28, 1963, in St. Joseph, Missouri, the son of Russell Dean and Joy (Springs) Collins and passed away February 11, 2024. 

Wayne worked as a correctional officer for most of his life.  He loved spending time outdoors whether it be deer hunting, mushroom hunting, mowing his yard or just enjoying a glass of tea while listening to Bluegrass music on a sunny day. He didn’t know a stranger and enjoyed visiting with everyone he met. His grandchildren were his whole world, his dad his hero, and mother his best friend.  

He is reunited in heaven by his father, Dean Collins; son, Tyler Collins; granddaughter, Kendall Collins; sisters, Raunda Wiley, and Brenda Snyder.

Survivors include his mother, Joy Collins; children, Jennene (Jeff) Noah, and Billy Collins; 5 grandchildren; favorite niece, Carla Johnson; Kim Collins; and numerous other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 ~ 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Turner Family Funeral Home in Maysville. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Oak Christian Church with burial immediately following at Oak Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
