Russell “Vinny” Martin Sena

Russell “Vinny” Martin Sena, 80, of Hendersonville entered the church triumphant on Friday, October 8, 2021, at Mission Hospital following a period of declining health. A native of New York, he was the son of Martin and Stella Sena.
After graduating from Florida State University in 1963 Russ moved to Rincon, Georgia and began a career as a music educator and professional musician.
He was an accomplished trumpet player who was known for his smooth lyrical tone. He had a diverse musical ability which allowed him the opportunity to perform with many celebrities, including Bob Hope, Dizzy Gillespie and Count Basie to name a few. Russ had a wonderful sense of humor and loved being social. He was a Christian man with a strong faith and was truly a person who never met a stranger.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Suzanne Sena; sons, Craig Sena and his wife, Teri, and Scott Sena and his wife, Gigi; grandchildren, Chloe, Cole, Sophia, Zoe and Giselle.
