Royce “Toby” Howard

Royce “Toby” Howard, 73, of Zirconia went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, he was a son of the late Hugh and Helen Howard.
Toby was a 1967 graduate of East Henderson High School and owned and operated T and Js Street Rods for 30 years, where he built custom cars. He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church of Tuxedo, a fellow member of NSRA for 37 years and was a member of the Confederate Classics Street Rod Association for 20 years. He enjoyed building and working on cars, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his granddaughters.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Patty Howard; sons, Josh (Monica) Howard and Joseph (Candice) Howard; granddaughters, Makadyn and Leah Howard; brother, Roger (Marilyn) Howard; sister, Norma (Eulis) Triplett and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Sunday, April 10, 2022 in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home. A second visitation will be held from 1:30-2:15pm on Monday, April 11, 2022 at Mountain View Baptist Church of Zirconia. A funeral service will be held at 2:30pm on Monday, April 11, 2022 at Mountain View Baptist Church of Zirconia with Pastor David Lewkowicz, Reverend Lyman Thompson and Reverend Sam Beddingfield officiating. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
