Roxy I. Carr

Roxy I. Carr, 71, of Midvale, passed away Monday, February 7, 2022 in Community Hospice-Truman House at New Philadelphia, following a period of declining health.
Born in Canton, Roxy was the daughter of the late Wilbur L. and Margaret P. (Williams) Brink and had retired from Tuscarawas County Job and Family Services as an Investigator, after 24 years of service. She was a member of Roxford United Methodist Church at Dennison and the church’s Women’s Group. Roxy was devoted to helping others, and she spent most of her life to doing just that, but she truly loved helping her family and her friends.
On December 5, 1969, Roxy married Larry A. Carr and together they shared over 52 years of marriage before her passing. Also surviving are her son, Larry (Stephanie) Carr, Jr. of Freeport; her daughter, Teresa (Brad) Parrish of Port Washington; seven grandchildren, Christopher Carr, Hunter Carr, Alexis Bennett, Chelsea Forsythe, Kaylie Parrish, Danielle Smale and Michael Smale; five great grandchildren, Blaine, Mady and Owen Forsythe, Landon Smale and Jacob Carr; four brothers, James (Loretta) Brink, Arthur (Debbie) Rettig, Franklin (Doris) Humphries and Harold Hostetler, a sister, Lucille (James) Mowrer and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, two sisters, Maryanna Weisel and Simone Brink and two brothers, Wilbert Brink and Clarence Brink also preceded her in death.
In keeping with her wishes, Roxy is to be cremated through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 11 AM in Roxford United Methodist Church at Dennison with Rev. Ron Heasley officiating. The family will greet friends and family from 10 AM until the time of the service.
It was Roxy’s wish that memorial contributions be directed to Roxford United Methodist Church, 771 Roxford Church Road SE, Dennison, Ohio 44621.
