Rowena Bernice Collins

Rowena Bernice Collins, 85, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 in Fort Worth with her family by her side. She was born September 2, 1937 in Apache, Oklahoma to Ralph and Martha Kopepassah Oliver.

 

Rowena was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved unconditionally and would go out of her way to help anyone in need. She taught her family to love the Lord with all their hearts. She was a great Leader and was a living example for her family through her actions more than her words. She lead them to be caring and responsible individuals. Rowena was a very proud member of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma. She enjoyed cooking, baking, entertaining and she was a master Yahtzee Player!

 

Rowena was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Doyle Edwin Collins and her siblings, Billy W., Darlene, Wynema, Martha, Roy and Barron.

 

She is survived by her children, Doyle G. Collins, Shonda R. Collins, Rowena E. West (Tom), Edwin B. Collins, Ralph (Bits) V. Collins (Amber), and Olivia D. Barden (Richard); grandchildren, Tiffiny, Brandilyn, Wynter, KC, TeeCie, Dolly, Misty, Benjamin, Justine, McKayla, Chloe, Brianne, Eddie and Balanie; Great-grandchildren,  Brianna, Seth, Jayden, Noah, Patrick, Justin, Harliegh, Jackson, Foxx, Jhett, Carlisle, Cason, Myles, Ayden, Landon, Mason and others; two great-great-grandchildren, Ember and River.

 

Visitation will be from 6pm-8pm. Friday; June 2, 2023, at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury.

 

Funeral services will be held at 3pm.Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Wiley Funeral Home Chapel in Granbury with burial following at Granbury City Cemetery under the direction of Wiley Funeral Home of Granbury.
