Rosalie Milden was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, February 6th, 1949, to Henry G. Crysdale and Susan E. (Schmidt) Crysdale. Rosalie was called home by her loving husband Jim, on December 29th, 2023.
She grew up in Grafton/Cedarburg Wisconsin, where she attended elementary and high school. After graduating, she became a nurse at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, and The National Institute of Health. After marrying Jim, she was a nurse in Saginaw Michigan, Port Washington, Wisconsin and Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
She received her BS in nursing from Mount Mercy University and spent the rest of her life in Cedar Rapids. Rosalie married Jim Milden on May 26th, 1973. in Cedarburg Wisconsin.
She is survived by their sons Matthew (Jessica) Milden of Loveland, Colorado and Nathan Milden of Hiawatha, Iowa, and two grandchildren, Elliot Milden and Coretta (Etta) Milden.
As well as, Susan Kist, Barbara Yankus, and her baby sister Ellen McCune (whom she received for Christmas instead of a pony) and one amazing brother in-law, Gary Milden.
Rose’s hobbies included gardening, gardening, and more gardening. She gained Master Gardener status from Iowa State University. Her favorite plant was Hosta. At one point had over 50 different types of Hosta in her garden, much to the chagrin of her husband Jim, who just wanted an outdoor train set. She loved Star Trek and considered Sisko to be the better captain. She spent many hours volunteering at the Indian Creek Nature Center and had an affinity for antique glasswork.
A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church at 10am, Saturday, March 2nd, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Indian Creek Nature Center.
