Ronald “Ron” L. Marcotte

Ronald “Ron” L. Marcotte, 87, of Sherman, formerly of Lincoln, passed away on February 14, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on September 18, 1934 in Gary, IN, the son of Henry and Mary (Kuchta) Marcotte. He married Cinda Mickelson on August 28, 2001 and she survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Pamela Dawn Green of Rochester and Cindy Marcotte of Lincoln; one son, Randall Marcotte (fiancé, Merry Beth Andress) of Shavertown, PA; two step-children, Michele Sutton of Piedmont, SC and Michael (Leslie) Garthaus of Bloomington; six grandchildren, Kelsey (Jonathon) Bayci, Kayla Green (fiancé, Joshua Seed), Randall J. Marcotte, Tyler Marcotte, Draike Sutton, and Ciarra Sutton; three great grandchildren, Kolton, Matthias, and Archer.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Ron served as a Captain in the United States Air Force. He was a pharmacist and owner of Rainbow Pharmacy in Lincoln, IL.

He was a member of the Purdue Alumni Association and played the Trombone in the Hobart High School Band. He was also on the Board for the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital and member of the Elks Club. He was an avid golfer, pilot, and Purdue Boilermakers fan through and through.

Visitation: 10 – 11 am, Friday, February 18, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home-Sherman.

Funeral Service: 11 am, Friday, February 18, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home-Sherman with Pastor Jon Carrell officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Lincoln, IL where military honors will be conducted.
