Ronald E. Moos Jr., age 60, of Yorkville, IL passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born on September 19, 1963 at Great Lakes Naval Hospital in Lake Forest, IL the son of Ronald E. and Carolyn (Barilla) Moos.
Ron was a 1981 graduate of Yorkville High School. He was a member of the Yorkville Track Team. He was very fast and talented, setting several records, some still standing. Ron was rated 4th fastest in the state. He was employed for many years at Stafford Auto Parts in Montgomery, IL, NAPA Auto Parts in Yorkville, IL, and Broward County Sheriff Office in Florida. Ron was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his son, Robert Moos of Florida; his daughter, Allison (James) Dumas of Florida; his grandchildren, Orion Dumas and Annabelle Dumas; his parents, Ronald and Carolyn Moos of Yorkville, IL; his sister, Michelle Abbott of Cortland, IL; his nephews, Adam Wold and Eric (Rebecca) Moos; as well as his very special four-legged friend, Milo, and many friends on Quinsey lane.
He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, William Abbott.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 26, 2024 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 N. Bridge St., Yorkville, IL. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Bristol, IL.
Friends may visit from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at the Nelson Funeral Home in Yorkville, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in loving memory of Ron may be directed to his family.
