Ronald E. Esserine, 88, of Sherman, died at 8:24 pm, Sunday, August 21, 2022 at his home. He was born June 26, 1934 in Dansville, NY, the son of Lee and Clara (Yancer) Esserine. He married Sherill Dolph November 27, 1977.
He is survived by his wife, Sherill; six children, Chuck (Phyllis) Esserine of Albuquerque, NM, Carol (Bob) Swinson of Sevierville, TN, Ronald (Arlene) Esserine of Rantoul, Pam (Greg) Giacomini of Springfield, Janet (Steve) Huser of Sevierville, TN and Trey (Teri) McGhee of Sherman; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one brother, David Esserine of Dansville, NY; 1 niece and 1 nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Vickie Strebb.
Ronald was retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. He later worked for the Federal Government for 15 years.
He was a member of Riverton Christian Church where he was very active, serving as a Deacon and Elder. He attended many mission trips to Russia, Mexico and Haiti. He was a member of the Walk to Emmaus and The Kiamichi Men’s Clinic.
Memorial Gathering: 9-11 am, Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Riverton Christian Church.
Memorial Service: 11 am, August 25, 2022 at Riverton Christian Church with Pastor Brian Atwell officiating.
Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Riverton Christian Church or Inner City Mission.
