Ronald David Katz
- August 9, 2021
Ronald D. Katz, of Flat Rock, passed away on August 6, 2021, at Mission Hospital after complications from cardiac surgery.
Born April 26, 1936, in Brooklyn, NY, he attended Erasmus Hall High School and then Hobart College in Geneva, NY. Married to Judy for 61 years, father to Michael Katz and Marcy Rothenberg, grandfather to Alison and Stephanie, great grandfather to Scarlett, Ron brought a zest for life and lived with integrity and fairness as his guiding lights.
After working and living in Atlanta for 42 years, Ron and Judy retired to the Hendersonville area in 2004 and he became a “mountain man”. He was an active hiker, a creative potter, a hopeful gardener, and an eager volunteer at Carl Sandburg National Park for many years.
While a memorial will be held at a later date, contributions can be made in his memory to The Park at Flat Rock Foundation and The Friends of Carl Sandburg or to the charity of your choice.
