Robert Randy Robertson, 70, of Glen Rose, Texas passed away on November 26th from complications due to Covid. He was born in Cleburne, Texas in 1951 and the Robertson family moved north to Hutchinson, Kansas in 1962. Randy was a member of the Buhler High School class of 1969. After high school, Randy earned a Bachelor’s degree from Emporia State University, Master’s degree from the University of Kansas and an MBA from the University of Dallas.

 

On September 23rd, 1978 he married the love of his life, Mary Angelyn Black. They were married for 43 years, a time filled with great joy and loving memories. Randy and Angie moved from Lawrence, Kansas to Carrollton, Texas in 1978. From 1987 to 1994 they lived overseas in Stavanger, Norway. In 1994, they moved to Mansfield, Texas until 1996 when they settled in Glen Rose, Texas.

 

Randy’s career began with his 25 years at Mobil Oil as a geophysicist. After leaving Mobil, for the next 22 years, he served as a financial advisor. In 2014 a dream was brought to life with the creation of Robertson Wealth Management. Randy’s concern for his clients went far beyond just financial services. He valued the relationships that were made and made every effort to serve their needs.

 

Randy cherished his family and nothing gave him greater joy than spending time with his loved ones. He was caring and giving to everyone that he came into contact with. He valued his community, as seen through his altruistic service. Randy was always a man of few words. When he spoke, it was meaningful and impactful. He was an avid golfer. The game fostered new relationships, connected family and strengthened friendships. Randy’s life was filled with a love of sports shown through playing in his youth, coaching all his children, and as a passionate spectator.

 

He was loved and will be truly missed by all of those who knew him.

 

Randy was preceded in death by father George Robert Robertson and mother Mae Robertson.

 

He is survived by his wife Angie Robertson of Glen Rose, Texas; brother Rickey Robertson and wife, Martha of Arlington, Kansas; sister Shirley Lyons and husband, Anthony of Dodge City, Kansas; son Terry Watts and wife, Stacey of Eudora, Kansas; son Barry Watts and wife, Megan of Belton, Missouri; daughter Randi Dornan and husband, James of Nemo, Texas; son Remington Robertson of Austin, Texas; grandchildren George Watts, T.J. Watts, Sarah Watts, Isaac Watts, Luke Watts, Sloan Cauley, Sophia Cauley, and Devlyn Dornan; as well as his loving, extended family.

 

Visitation will be on Friday, December 3rd from 6-8pm at Wiley’s Funeral Home in Glen Rose, Texas. The Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 4th at 11am at the Stonewater Church Glen Rose Campus. There will be a brief graveside service to follow at Squaw Creek Cemetery. Afterwards, the family invites you to join them for a luncheon and fellowship. The lunch will be held at the Glen Rose Senior Citizen’s Center.
