Robert Owen “Bob” Minard

Robert Owen “Bob” Minard, 81, of New Philadelphia died October 19, 2021, following a period of declining health.
Born in North Bergen, NJ, on September 15, 1940 he was the son of the late Robert Minard and Janet (Sullivan) Davis.
Bob honorably served in the United States Navy on the USS Blenny from 1959 to 1963, where he was trained as an electrician.
After completing his service, he worked at Horn Electric in Dover, was the owner and operator of Perkins Restaurant on West High Avenue, and ultimately retired from the Timken Company in Canton where he was a material handler.
Bob was an avid bowler, gardener, and Cleveland Browns fan. He also was an excellent cook and a member of the New Philadelphia VFW Post #1445. Most importantly, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, enjoying many evenings around the firepit and vacationing in Myrtle Beach with his wife.
Bob will be deeply missed by his wife, Dee, whom he married June 18, 2018; his children, Sue (Shaun) Creager, Kim (Dan Warther) Harmon, Wendy (Bill) Kennedy, Rob (Shawn) Minard, Tim (Becky) Minard, Brandi (Greg Grove) Higgins, Michelle (Kaiba) Sickinger, Shannon (Nathan) Gee; grandchildren, Gavin, Abby, Noah, Rees, Kolton (Shannon), Kayla, Chloe, Hallie, Dylann, Hannah, Daxx, Wyatt, Huck, McKenzie (Seth), Katlyn (Janson), Mikayla, Lucas; great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Bailey, Riley, Brayden, Cayden; cousin, Kathy (Phil) Tully; and his dog and loyal companion, Maggie.
Military honors will be rendered in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio on Monday, October 25 at 10:45 a.m. Inurnment will then follow in the cemetery.
The Minard family wishes to express their gratitude to ALCO LLC for their exceptional care of Bob in his final days.
