Robert John Goss, age 68, of New Philadelphia, died early Sunday, September 12, 2021, in New Dawn Retirement Center at Dover following a period of declining health.
Born in Dover on July 24, 1953, Bob was a son of the late Robert E. and Alice Edwards Goss. He was a 1972 graduate of the former Indian Valley North High School and retired from GE Betz where he was a chemical operator.
Bob was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes. He also enjoyed traveling, spending time on the beach, boating, being with friends and family and making sure he attended as many activities of his grandchildren as he possibly could. Bob was also a big supporter of New Philadelphia sports and the former president of the Quaker Club.
He is survived by his wife, the former Kristen Morgan; his children, Scott (Winona) Goss of Port Washington, Shana (Christian) Haas of Belville, Ohio; his step-sons, John R. Art and Gilbert Art; his grandchildren, Willow and Gunner Goss, Zachery, Jon and Hailee Carman and Victoria Haas; as well as numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; a niece, Stephanie Miles; a nephew, Ryan Sherer, and a family friend, Julie Harriman.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Sherer.
The family will host a celebration of Bob’s life in Ricardo’s Party Center 115 Front Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, on Friday, September 24, 2021, from 6:00 – 9:00 PM. Cremation care has been handled by the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.
