Robert J. Morlee

Robert J. Morlee, 85, of Petersburg, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 8, 1936, in Springfield, the son of Robert E. and Euphemia (Carr) Morlee. He married Mary Jo Hermes on August 3, 1957 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Springfield.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joann Hibbs; and brother, David Morlee.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo, and many nieces and nephews.

Robert was employed as a painter for several contractors and a member of Painters’ Local #90 for 60 years and also sold insurance. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Petersburg. Robert was an avid fisherman and visited Tomahawk, IL for a yearly fishing trip. He enjoyed his morning coffee with his friends.

Visitation: 9 – 11 am, Saturday, March 5, 2022 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Petersburg.

Funeral Mass: 11 am, Saturday, March 5, 2022 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Petersburg with Reverend Sergio Lizama officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Petersburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Church or Menard County Paramedics.
