Rita Marie Koerber, age 79 of Yorkville, IL passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Seasons Hospice in Naperville, IL. She was born on July 12, 1942 in Kansas City, MO the daughter of Francis J. and Mabel (Noblitt) O’Leary.
Rita was united in marriage to her best friend, Gary Koerber on February 10, 1990 and they spent the next 17 years happily together until his passing on March 7, 2007. Mrs. Koerber was employed by the United States Post Office until her retirement. Since then she has enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and her dog, Seamus. Rita was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
Rita is survived by her children William O’Gara III of Elgin, IL, Sean (Maria Lopez) O’Gara of Yorkville, IL, Timothy (Lori) O’Gara of McKinney, TX, Daniel (Sylvia Pokrywka) O’Gara of Oswego, IL, Kelly Konicek of Yorkville, IL, Christopher Koerber of Yorkville, IL, Karla Koerber of Yorkville, IL; her grandchildren, Amanda (John) Treadway, Sean O’Gara, Aislinn O’Gara, Aidan O’Gara, Emma Konicek, Katelin Konicek, Maggie Konicek, Yasmeen Ibrahim, Yousef Ibrahim, Lylah Ibrahim, Adam Ibrahim, Gloria Olson, Elizabeth Lopez, Maribel Lopez and Crescencio Lopez; her two great-grandchildren, Maverick and Axel Treadway; also several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Bridget Ibrahim; her granddaughter, Sara Ibrahim; her husband, Gary Koerber; her siblings, Marguerite Shults, Daniel O’Leary, Mary Coffman, Delores Garside, Frank O’Leary and Teresa O’Leary.
A private mass will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 406 Walnut St. Yorkville, IL. Interment will take place at a later date in the St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Bristol, IL.
A private visitation will be held at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL.
