Richard Rex Wayland “Richard” Beall, age 70, life-long resident of Granbury, Texas, passed away on October 28, 2022 at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

Richard was born in Granbury, Texas on June 19, 1952 to Wanda Mae (Keith) Beall and Wayman Worth “Curley” Beall.

Richard was a Granbury High School Graduate, Class of 1969.  Richard was a member of the 1966 Granbury High School Football State Championship Team.

Richard was married to Clara Jean (Melton) Beall on June 12, 1994.

Richard was preceded in death by his father “Curley” Beall.

Richard was an avid sports fan and longtime fan of the Dallas Cowboys.  He enjoyed camping, fishing, canoeing and the great outdoors.

Richard was a longtime member of TASO (Texas Association of Sports Officials) and a Charter Member of the SWC (South West Chapter) of high school sports officials.

Richard followed in the footsteps of his father as a barber of 45 years in Granbury at the former Brazos Barber and Beauty Shop.  Richard was one of the first employees to open the new “Lowes” of Granbury in 2004, where he worked for 18 years.

Richard is survived by his wife of 28 years, Clara Beall of Granbury; Wanda Mae (Keith) Beall (mother) of Granbury; Gary Beall (brother) of San Marcos; Delana Holderness (sister) of Granbury; Sativa J. Severance (step-daughter) of Tennessee; William B. Severance (grandson) of Tennessee; Brandon Bell (son).

Grandchildren: Devon Maifeld of College Station; Justice Maifeld of Corpus Christi; Bethany Bell.

Great Grandchildren:  Marcus, Christian and Elijah.  Richard is also survived by a host of family and friends.

Memorial service to be held 10:00 A.M., December 17, 2022 at Wiley Funeral Home, 400 Hwy 377 East, Granbury, Texas.  Reverend Tom Watson will officiate the service.
