Richard Polivka

Richard Edward “Rich” Polivka, 77, of Hendersonville passed away October 8, 2021, after a period of declining health. Born in Chicago to the late Frank and Mildred Polivka; Rich is also predeceased by a brother Frank Polivka.
After graduating highschool, Rich volunteered to serve our country; he was a proud US Marine and Vietnam Veteran. Later in the years, Rich was employed as an installer and repairman for Bell Telephone Company; he retired at the age of 54 after thirty-three years of service. Rich was a member of the Fletcher Seventh-day Adventist Church, where he enjoyed being a deacon. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Left to cherish Rich’s memory are his beloved wife of fifty-four years Shirley Miller Polivka; children Lora Jeremy (Patton), Dawn (Kris) Christianson of Jasper, Indiana, Richie Polivka; grandchildren Jordyn and Ciara, Stephen, Nick and Cassidy; and a brother Terry Polivka (Trish) of Naperville, Illinois. Rich leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park of Hendersonville, North Carolina, with Pastor Ivan Blake officiating.
A memorial service honoring the life of Richard Polivka will be held at Fletcher Seventh-Day Adventist Church; details to be announced at a later date.
