Richard D. “Rick” Rainsberger

Richard D. “Rick” Rainsberger, 73, of Bloomingdale and formerly of Dover, passed away September 16, 2021, in Wheeling Hospital following a period of declining health.

Born in Dennison on December 8, 1947, he was the son of the late Foster E. and Anna Virginia (Barcus) Rainsberger.

After graduating from Scio High School in 1966, Rick honorably served his country in the United States Air Force for 7 ½ years. He was a heavy equipment mechanic with Ohio CAT throughout his professional career.

For enjoyment, Rick spent time woodworking, caring for his yard, riding motorcycles, and being with his family.

Rick is survived by his daughter, Kat Lewis of Dennison; his grandchildren, Justin (Jessica) Lewis of Dover and Kathryn Lewis of Dover; great-grandchildren, Dominic Lewis, Lucious Patterson, Peyton Lewis, Kailey Lewis, Grayson Ditto, Paige Huff, and Mason Lewis.

In addition to his wives, Barbara and Audrey and his parents, Rick was preceded in passing by his brother, Doyle Rainsberger.

Visitation will be held in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover on Thursday, September 23, 2021, from 4 to 7 p.m. A private service will be held with inurnment to follow in Dover Burial Park alongside his wife, Barbara.
