Richard “Bud” C. Williams, 83, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022. Born May 4, 1938 in Hamilton, Ohio, he was the son of Richard and Mable Williams.
Bud graduated from Columbus Trade School and proudly served in the U.S. Marines from 1955-1959 with an honorable discharge. He was a great fisherman and loved to be outside, especially at Charles Mill Dam. Bud enjoyed bird watching, fishing and his animals; he loved all his dogs and cats throughout the years.
He is survived by his children, Richard “Bo” (Cecilia) Williams, Raymond (Carol) Williams, Lori “Sis” Van Dine (Gary Tuttle), and Randy (Bay) Williams; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald Williams of Michigan; and sister, Nona (Joe) Kaufman of Mansfield.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings and his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Lou Williams, who passed in 2018.
Family and friends may gather on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 1:30-2:30 pm at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street. A memorial service will follow immediately at 2:30 pm with Pastor Matthew Pond officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the S.T.O.P. cat shelter, 1152 Lexington Ave., Mansfield, Ohio 44907.
