Rex R. Fox, 68, of Lisbon, Iowa, formerly of Manchester, Iowa, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023, at his home after a lengthy battle of Pancreatic Cancer. Visitation will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023, at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home in Manchester. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023, with additional visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester, with Reverend Gabriel Anderson officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date at the Postville Cemetery. Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Manchester is assisting the family.
Rex was born on March 4, 1955, in Manchester, Iowa, the son of Georgeann Mary (Kramer) and John C. Fox. He was a 1973 graduate of West Delaware High School. He went on to serve as a service manager for local dealerships before managing Plaza Auto Auction in Mount Vernon. Rex was independent, hardworking and hard playing, he will be remembered by many as an inflexible perfectionist. He had a fondness for all sorts of motorsports, but was partial to Midwest and Southern dirt oval racing.
Rex was preceded in death by his parents; and longtime love of his life, Deanna Kerr, who left his side in 2020.
He is survived by his siblings, Pam (Ed) Eike of Manchester, Nan Fox of North Liberty, Iowa, Ted Fox of Manchester, and Kurt Fox of Dyersville, Iowa, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their deepest thanks to Kenny Madole, Andy and Jodi Givens, Dan Albright, and Karl and Judy Keuter; along with all of the Doctors, Nurses and staff at UnityPoint-St. Lukes, Mercy, and other facilities for all your patience and care.
