Rebecca L. Youngblood

Rebecca L. Youngblood, 47, of Fletcher, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 26, 2022. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, she was the daughter of James M. and the late Janice J. Bishop.

She was a devoted, caring daughter, wife, and mother. She always loved spending time with her family and friends and helping others whenever she had the chance.

She survived by her husband of 28 years, John Youngblood, of Fletcher, and two children, Justin Youngblood of Fletcher, and Mandolyn Metheny (Dale) of Fletcher. She is also survived by her brother, Mark Bishop (Beth) of Gainesville, FL., along with several nieces and nephews.

Rebecca always went by Becky, and she is remembered as someone who was full of life and never let anything stop her, even when she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. She was always ready to accept challenges and do things to her fullest potential. Becky loved butterflies, she thought they were so special and beautiful and had many butterfly bushes around her home. One of her favorite sayings was “let your faith be bigger than your fear” and that was a saying she used all throughout her life and she always looked to God for guidance. She was a faithful secretary for Fletcher First Baptist Church for 14 years.

A graveside service will be held at two o’clock on Friday, March 4, 2022, at Hooper’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Roy Waldroup officiating.

The family will be at their home in the Hooper’s Creek area of Fletcher.

Flowers are welcome or donations can be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The family would like to thank everyone who prayed for Becky, and for all the love and support they have shown over the last couple of months.
