Randy L. Torch
- November 9, 2021
Randy L. Torch, 66, of Dover, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, November 5, 2021 in Mercy Medical Center at Canton following a brief illness.
Born July 17, 1955 in Union Hospital at Dover, he was the son of Eileen (Couch) Turrin of New Philadelphia and the late Frank Torch and a graduate of New Philadelphia High School. A man of great faith, and who brought many people to know the Lord, Randy was raised in and still attending the First Church of God at New Philadelphia where he was currently serving on the church’s Elder Board. He loved being with his family and also riding his Indian motorcycle. He was a funny, gentle, generous, kind hearted and humble man and loved by many. The world would be a much better place if there were more people like him.
On June 5, 1976, Randy married Diane L. (Ruggeri) Torch and together they shared over 45 years of marriage before his passing. Also surviving are his two daughters, Jessica (Michael) Rugh of Dover and Brooke (Scott) Jasper of Atwood Lake; his four grandchildren, Kaylee Maurer, Breanna, Hunter and Madison Jasper and his niece, Michelle (Eric) Curry.
In addition to his father, Randy was preceded in death by his sister, Sherry Paris.
In keeping with Randy’s wishes, cremation will take place through the care of Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 1:30 PM in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia with Pastor Jim Wallick officiating.
To honor Randy, the family requests that memorial contributions be directed to either the First Church of God, 824 Tuscarawas Avenue NW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663 or, the First Church of God, 402 North 2nd Street, Dennison, Ohio 44621.
