Randy John Cassavaugh

Randy John Cassavaugh, 65, of Nova, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2021, of complications from Covid-19 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital.
He was born February 28, 1956, in Plattsburgh, New York, to the late Ida (Reynolds) and Hubert Cassavaugh. Randy was a horse driver and trainer for harness racing. He raced under the stable name “Footprints in the Sand” and was a member of the United State Trotting Association. Randy was a man of faith known for his close relationship with the Lord.
He is survived by his companion, Raelee Beecher; three children, Andrew Cassavaugh of Nova, OH, Stephanie Cassavaugh and Randy “Punky” Cassavaugh, both of Valley Falls, NY; two siblings, Scott (Kyle) Cassavaugh of Hinsdale, NH, and Roxanne (Tim) Kormos of Niantic, CT; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and close friends. In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by a sister, Jacquie Townley of Allentown, PA.
Private family services will be observed at a future date. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family.
