Rachel E. Hankins

Rachel E. Hankins, 78, of Uhrichsville, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022 in her residence.
Born in Dennison, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Gertrude (Greathouse) Beal and had retired from Bates Metal at Port Washington. She was a member of the First Baptist Church at New Philadelphia and a former member of the former Army-Navy Garrison and Uhrichsville Moose at Uhrichsville. She loved playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.
She was the wife of the late Aubrey N. Hankins, who died on March 23, 1997. Surviving are two daughters, Kimberlee Wood of New Philadelphia and Vicky Freeman and her boyfriend, Robert Jacobs of Coshocton; a son, Ralph Hankins of Uhrichsville; her former son-in-law, John Jacobs of Uhrichsville; two sisters, Verna Coverdale of Uhrichsville and Flo Ann (Eddie) Robinson of Bakersville; her grandchildren, Samantha, Bill, Rossy, Amber, Carrie Sue, Santanna, Jamie, Heather and Brenda; great-grandchildren, Destiny, Arianna, Trapper, Aerow, Zavier, Blaze, Little Frankie, Gabriella, Brantley, Aubree, Cheyanne, Aiden, Hunter, Braxton, Makayla, Raylynn, Kennedy, Karsin, Berklee and Bailey and her great-great grandchild, Kai.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Rachel was preceded in death by her daughter, Marcella “Bean” Hankins, her son, Michael Hankins, two brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 18, 2022 from 5 to 7 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. In keeping with Rachel’s wishes, she is to be cremated following the visitation and a private burial will take place in Union Cemetery at Uhrichsville.
