Phyllis N. Daugherty, 85, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2022, at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Visitation: noon to

1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Funeral Service: 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Phyllis was born on April 16, 1937, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of James E. and Lucille N. (Barr) Paul. She attended Lincoln School and graduated from Wilson High School in Cedar Rapids. She was united in marriage to William J. Daugherty on Nov. 11, 1955, in Cedar Rapids. Phyllis was a longtime member of Sharon United Methodist Church and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved people and never met someone who wasn’t a friend. Hands down, Phyllis was the best housekeeper there ever was. She loved plants and enjoyed entertaining. Phyllis was an amazing cook and always wanted to cook everyone’s favorites when they came to visit.

She is survived by her son, Brian (Azam); daughter, Robbie (Jeff); grandchildren, Jeff, Shelly, Morgan and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Adam, Andrew, Bryant, Conroy, Keira, Lexi, Jaden, October, Zade and Gareth; sister, Sandy (Richard) Glick; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James E. and Lucille N. Paul; and husband, William J. Daugherty.

The Daugherty family would like to make special thanks to her loving, caring friends and neighbors for being there for her, to the Riders Club of America for their great service, her medical team, Palliative Care, hospice staff members at St’ Luke’s Hospital for dedicated, caring service and support. We truly appreciate all that you have done, she was very blessed.
