PHILLIP AUSTIN

Phillip Austin was born April 2, 1955 in Cleveland, Ohio to Gus and Gwendolyn Austin.  Phillip was the second child to this union.  He attended schools in the Cleveland Public School District.

Phillip met and married Edna Weakley August 21, 1982 and to this union two children were born, Tiffany and Phillip Austin, Jr.

Phillip worked for PPG Industries for 28 years, until he became ill and his health would no longer permit him to work.

He could sit for hours listening to music from the Temptations and the Dramatics, who were among some of his favorite groups. 

Phillip enjoyed going to the IX-Center to attend the Car Show; he loved looking at the new Cadillacs but really enjoyed looking at all of the old school cars.

Phillip departed this life on June 13. 2021.  He was preceded into eternal life with both his parents, Gus and Gwendolyn Austin and his sister, Valerie Austin.

Phillip leaves to mourn his passing a devoted daughter, Tiffany N. Austin and sons, Philip Austin, Jr. and Phillip Dantigance; two brothers, Steve Austin (Cheryl) and Ricardo Austin (Janice); a devoted niece, Maya Austin; three grandchildren, Nashae, Phil’Shone and Pierce; close friends, Michael Yarborough and Richard Pritchard and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
