Philip Stanley Sowards

Philip Stanley Sowards, 63, of Dennison, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021 in Trinity West Medical Center at Steubenville.

A son of the late Clarence and Thelma Virginia (Wilkins) Sowards, Philip was born November 5, 1958 in Twin City Hospital at Dennison, Ohio.

A lifelong resident of Tuscarawas County, Philip graduated from Indian Valley South High School in 1977.  He was an avid reader and enjoyed watching sports on television, especially the New York Yankees.

He is survived by a sister Phyllis and his friends at the Northview Adult Group Home in Dennison.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.  A funeral service celebrating Philip’s life will follow at 2pm in the funeral home with Pastor Brian Flood officiating.  Interment will take place in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover.
