Paula Margaret Bapka
- July 1, 2021
Paula Margaret Bapka of Lexington, passed away at the age of 75 on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at her home.
Born May 20, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Virginia (Hulen) Gallagher. Paula was a very intelligent woman who had the privilege of being born into a family of intellectual people. She graduated from Lincoln College with an Associate degree; attended The Ohio State University; received her Bachelor degree from Ashland College; and earned her Master degree in Philosophy from Cleveland State University. Paula was passionate about education and shared that joy of learning with her students at The Ohio State University, Tiffin University, Ashland University, and North Central State College, where she retired as Adjunct Professor of Philosophy. She was patient and kind and possessed a true servant’s heart. Paula was a Stephen Minister and hospice volunteer. Her beautiful spirit put others at ease and she felt she was blessed to meet each and every person along the way in her life.
Paula was an avid reader, played piano, and enjoyed listening to classical music. She had a special place reserved in her heart for her feline companions. She met her husband, Michael Bapka, on a blind date, and as they say, the rest was history. They shared 54 wonderful, adventurous and exciting years together.
In addition to her loving husband, Paula is survived by a daughter, Kelly Bapka. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Jane Gallagher.
There will be no visitation or service at this time. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family.
