Patricia J. Shenberger was born September 6, 1938 to Earl G. and Miriam (Bossler) Smith. She resided in Mansfield all her life and attended Madison Local Schools, graduating in May of 1957.
She was employed at the Mansfield Tire and Rubber Company until April of 1964 when she resigned to raise a family. She was employed in 1975 by the Madison Local Schools and retired on December 31, 2007 after 32 years of service. She was a member of the First English Lutheran Church. She enjoyed bridge, traveling, reading, gardening and above all, being with her family and grandchildren.
Surviving are her four sons, Vic (Dana M.), Stephen, Randy (Sue) and James (Dana H.); nine grandchildren, Derek, Hanna, Olivia, Doug, Meghan, RaeLee, Michael, Cody, and Heather; sister, Kathaleen Harris of Lucas; and sister-in-law, Linda Smith of Radcliff, Kentucky; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Val L. Shenberger, whom she married on November 16, 1963; her parents; two brothers, Lester E. McCullough and Earl T. Smith; two sisters, Mary M. Stecker and Grace H. Shaffer; niece, Georgia A. Shaffer; seven brothers-in-law, George Shaffer, Samuel Shenberger, Junior Shenberger, Mervin Shenberger, Richard Shenberger, James Shenberger, and Clifford Harris; two sisters-in-law, Esther Shenberger and Nellie Shenberger; nephew, Richard Shenberger Jr; and a special grandson, Brandon T. Drake.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield, Ohio 44902. A service will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021 beginning at 11:00 a.m. with gathering one hour prior to service at First English Lutheran Church, 53 Park Ave., Mansfield, Ohio 44902 with Pastor Tim Hubert officiating. Memorial contributions in Patricia’s honor may be made to Southern Care Hospice.
