Oscar Lamar Wilmington Sr. was born on April 4, 1936, in Grenada Mississippi to the union of Seymour and Mabel Wilmington. He was the fourth child of ten children. He accepted Christ at a young age. Oscar met and married his childhood sweetheart Artherene Robinson, and they met and married in Ravenna, Ohio and had three children. Oscar was a good and faithful worker at General Motors in Lordstown, Ohio. He always started his mornings with a cup of coffee and his gospel music. He retired after working for 38 ½ years. He was a faithful member of the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church where he sang in the men’s choir. Oscar was known as a dapper dresser for his nice suit collection to go with his Stacey Adams shoes. Oscar loved God and his family and was known as Pop-Pop to many as he shared his beautiful lawn and garden with everyone. He cared about his soul and body and was seen regularly working out at the Ravenna Athletic Center and participated in a monthly luncheon with his brother, close friends, and co-workers. He was preceded in death by his parents Seymour and Mabel Wilmington. Sisters Hallene Armstrong, Armelda McIntyre and Chenille Wilmington. Brothers Cleophus Wilmington and Van Heath Wilmington.

Loved ones left to cherish his memory, his wife of 69 years, Artherene Wilmington, daughters Carolyn (George) Wilmington- Richee’ of Cadiz Kentucky, Evelyn Harris of Toledo Ohio, Son Oscar (Kari) Wilmington Jr. of Redondo Beach California. Brothers Spencer Wilmington of Brimfield Ohio, Howard (Diane) of Moreno Valley Los Angeles California. Sisters Jean Walker of Los Alamitos California, Omega Nero of Beaumont California, Grandchildren Kamarr (Laura) Wilmington-Richee’ of Hopkinsville Kentucky, Jalon (Jordan) of Sylvania Ohio. Daryn and Dante’ Wilmington of West Palm Beach Florida. Devvon and Derrick Wilmington of Redondo Beach California, Setiva (DeJuane) Eastland of Bakersfield California. Great grandchildren Maknazeh, Devyhn, Nariah, Derrius, Oziah, Xavier, Penielope, Emmanuel, Qurah, Emani, and Tytos along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
