Opal Elizabeth Wieneke

Stewartsville, Missouri…Opal was born on August 29, 1932 in Speed, KS to Lloyd Sr and Clara May (Swanson) Bushnell of Queen City, MO. She passed away June 6, 2024.

In 1938, Lloyd and Clara bought a farm five miles west of Queen City, MO, where they raised their family. Opal attended Satterfield Grade School and graduated from Queen City High School in 1949. She married her high school classmate and love of her life, Raymond Wieneke, on February 22, 1951. Their union was blessed with four children: Raymond Jr., Jennifer, Kathy, and Richard. Opal’s children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her gifts from God, and she always considered loving and caring for her family to be her life’s mission.

Opal is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Sr. and Clara, sister Lola (Bushnell) Musick and husband Ernest Musick, brother Lloyd Jr. and wife Louise, and sister-in-law Rosabel Bushnell. She is survived by her husband Raymond of Stewartsville MO, Children: Raymond Jr and wife Diane of Stewartsville MO, daughters Jennifer Reed of Stewartsville MO and Kathy Shepherd of St. Joseph MO, and Richard and wife Debby of Gravette AR.

Grandchildren: Melissa Lentz and husband Andy of St. Joseph MO, Melanie Sarver and husband Jeff of San Antonio TX, Nathan Wieneke and wife Erin of St. Joseph MO, Claire Gallion and husband Jason of Smithville MO, Jonathan Wieneke and wife Michelle of Bentonville AR, Elizabeth Wieneke of Gravette AR, and Amy Shoemaker and husband Travis of Stewartsville MO.

Great-grandchildren: Justin Lentz and wife Cassie, Kaylee Johnston and husband Clayton, Shallin Wieneke, Ian Wieneke, Tristan Gallion, Devin Sarver, Flynn Sarver, Cooper Wieneke, Ashlyn Wieneke. Brother Russell Bushnell of Queen City, MO, and sister-in-law Margaret Wieneke of Stephensville, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services:  2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Culbertson Chapel United Methodist Church in Stewartsville, MO 64490. Visitation:  12:30 ~ 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial:  Stewartsville Cemetery
