Obituary: Holly Marie Shrum

Holly Marie Shrum died in Carson City, NV on Monday October 12, 2020 surrounded by her family. Holly was 44 years old.

Born in West Palm Beach, FL to Diane and Frank Primka, she was their third oldest child. Holly grew up in Carson City and graduated from Carson High School in 1994. She went on to have a career with State of Nevada for over 20 years. During this time, she worked at the Secretary of State’s office, at Nevada State College, and most recently at the Nevada State Treasurers office.

Holly enjoyed being outside in nature, anywhere there was water. She loved to spend time with her husband Dustin and their dogs Ginger and Charlie at Lake Tahoe, Lake Lahontan, and the Carson River.

She leaves behind her mother Diane Primka; husband Dustin Shrum; brother Jim Primka and wife Melissa; sister Heather Rikalo and husband Rob; sister Tiffany Kaiser and husband Gerald; six adored nieces and nephews; Trevor and Allison Rikalo, Nathan and Benjamin Primka, Janine and Eva Kaiser, and her beloved dog Ginger.

The family would like to personally thank their family and friends, Carson City First Responders, the Emergency Room and Intensive Care Staff at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center, Walton’s Funeral Home, and St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church for their care and support during this difficult time.

Holly was one of the most kind and thoughtful people you would ever meet. She is dearly loved and missed. Holly lived to love and loved to live.

Memorial Services will be held at Lone Mountain Cemetery on November 14, 2020 at 12 p.m.
