Norman E Schlesinger

Norman E. Schlesinger, age 83, of Plano, IL passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Rush Copley Medical Center, Aurora, IL. He was born on July 23, 1939 in Welland, IL, the son of Emil and Lucille (Bauman) Schlesinger.

Norman was united in marriage on September 17, 1960 to Miss Diane Hoffman and they have spent 62 years happily together. Mr. Schlesinger was a very active member of the First Lutheran Church of Plano. He was the former owner of D & H Ag in Yorkville, IL and was later employed by the United States Dept of Agriculture until his retirement. Norman was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Schlesinger of Plano, IL; his children, Karen (Stephen) DeBolt of Plano, IL, Linda (James) Strader of Springfield, IL, Jeffrey (Theresa) Schlesinger of Compton, IL, and Eric (Fran) Schlesinger of Naperville, IL; his fourteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; his brother, Mervyn (Kay) Schlesinger of Mendota, IL; and his sister, Donna Ganz-Bauer of West Brooklyn, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Lucille Schlesinger; also his sisters, Lorna Friedel and Charlotte Grewell.

A Memorial Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at the First Lutheran Church of Plano, 200 N. Center Street, Plano, IL. Private interment will take place at a later date  in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Compton, IL.

Friends may visit from 9:30 AM until the Hour of Service at the First Lutheran Church of Plano, 200 N. Center Street, Plano, IL.
