Norman E. Samelson, age 81, of Chicago and most recently of Palatine. Born September 16, 1939, at rest January 5, 2021. Beloved husband to Jamie (Ruggeri) for almost 35 years. Devoted father to Jennifer (Steve) Lehman, N. Erik (Erica) Samelson. Preceded in death by his infant daughter, Susan Samelson. Cherished “Papa” to Connor. Loving brother to Shirley Thompson. Dear brother-in-law to Jodi Ruggeri, and John (Joan) Ruggeri. Loving cousin to Linda (Carl) McHugh and Ann (Phil) Hansen. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, funeral services will be held privately. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In the meantime, in honor of him, take joy in life. If you have the opportunity to help someone, do it.
