Norine A. Smith

Norine A. Smith, 89, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born February 2, 1932, in Chicago, the daughter of Burles J. and Mary Stultz Bennett. She married Charles W. Smith on August 20, 1950 and he survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Debra (John) Voges of Goreville and Kathy (Victor) Lanzotti of Springfield; three grandchildren, Staci (Doug) Shafer, Craig (Laura) Smith and Benjamin Lanzotti; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Burles (Barbara) Bennett, Jr. of Springfield; and one daughter-in-law, Kay Smith of Bloomington.
Preceding her in death are her parents; and one son, Charles W. Smith, Jr.
Norine belonged to Westside Christian Church where she was an active member for many years. She enjoyed volunteering, especially at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum and Lewis Memorial Christian Village. She was an extensive traveler, going all over the USA with Chuck in their motor home. Norine worked as an office administrator for State Farm Insurance and was a homemaker.
Cremation will be accorded by Staab Funeral Home – Springfield and burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington, IL at a later date.
