Nina Jean Munier, 87, of Waterloo, formerly of Marion, passed away Saturday, August 17,2024 at Birdee Cottage in Waterloo. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial will follow the service and take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Nina was born July 11, 1937, to Albert and Edna (Thompson) Fuchs in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. After she graduated high school, she went to beauty school. She married the love of her life, Dale Munier on January 23, 1958, in Marion, Iowa. She worked as a hairdresser for many years and continued to cut Dale’s hair until last year. She also worked as a bookkeeper and co-owned the Marion Tastee-Freez with her husband.
She was an amazing cook and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. She was known for her cake decorating. She also enjoyed playing cards games and socializing with friends every weekend. Nina liked spending the last twenty-two winters in Mission, Texas with her husband. She loved her family and cherished the time they spent together.
Nina is survived by her children, Deniene (Thomas) Kneeland, and David Munier; grandchildren, Brian, Brandon, Kyle, Shaelyn, and Austin; great grandchildren, Jaycee, Ryder, Peyton, Macie, and Landon.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Jackie Hauser.
