Nancy J. Rissman

Nancy J. Rissman, age 86, of Leaf River, IL, formerly of Hinckley, IL passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023 peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 28, 1936 the daughter of Wesley and Lillian (Podalsky) Houtz.

Nancy was united in marriage on March 6, 1955 at the Hinckley First United Methodist Church in Hinckley, IL to Mr. Karl Rissman and they spent the next 47 years happily together until his passing on May 23, 2002.   She was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hinckley, IL. Nancy and her husband Karl, farmed in the area for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt who will be deeply missed by friends and family.

Nancy is survived by her children, Kent (Sheri) Rissman, Kristi Olson, Joel (Adela) Rissman; her son-in-law, Paul Lewandowsky; her grandchildren, Kendyl (Charissa) Rissman, Noelina Rissman, Matt (Jessica) Rissman, Locke Lewandowsky , and Andrea Kennedy;  her great-grandchildren, Kendyl Jr. and Kai Rissman; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents, Wesley and Lillian Houtz; her husband, Karl Rissman; her daughter, Juli Lewandowsky; and her son-in-law, Don Olson; her brother and sister-in-law, William (Carol) Houtz.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 12760 Lee Road, Hinckley, IL. Interment will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Hinckley, IL.
