N. Jeanie Crowell Goetz

N. Jeanie Crowell Goetz, 92, of Bloomington, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022 at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, IL. She was born on March 19, 1929, in Springfield, the daughter of Joe L. and Florence Murray Schwartz. She married Jim Crowell on May 26, 1951 in Springfield, IL and moved to Connersville, IN where Jeanie lived for 37 years. Jim preceded her in death on June 15, 1981. She then married Ed Goetz on April 9, 1988 and moved back to Springfield, IL. Ed preceded her in death on November 21, 2005.
Also preceding her in death are her parents; brother, Ronald Schwartz; and step-son, David Goetz, and step-grandsons Jason and Shawn Goetz.
Survivors include her five children, Dana (Cregg) Miyat of Bloomington, IL, Mark (Nancy) Crowell of Boone, NC, Bret (Carolyn) Crowell of Avon Lake, OH, Kari (Jan Smith) Crowell of Panama City, FL, and Scot (Meg) Crowell of Lemont, IL.; six step-children, John Goetz of Petersburg, Mike (Sue) Goetz; Tim (Deb) Goetz, Mary Midiri, Greg Goetz all of Springfield, IL, and Kate (James) Ambrose of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; 20 Step-grandchildren; 21 step-great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jeanie was a graduate of Cathedral grade school and Sacred Heart Academy. She owned and operated her catering business, The Country Cupboard, in Connersville, IN. Jeanie was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and volunteered for various things in the church. She was also a member of the Elks Lodge #158 and volunteered for 13 years as a Samaritan for St. John’s Hospital. Jeanie was best known for collecting teapots, cooking, baking, and entertaining.

Memorial Service: 11 am, Saturday, April 2, 2022 at St. Agnes Catholic Church.
