Mrs. Rose Putteet

Rose Putteet, 90, passed away on June 2, 2023, in Granbury, Texas. Rose resided at Waterview, Assisted Living community for the past 6 years. The place she really called home was Cresson. She had been a longtime resident of Cresson until 2017, when she moved to Waterview.
Services will be held at the Cresson Methodist Church on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. Starting with the visitation at 1 p.m. followed by the service at 2 p.m. Rose was the pianist and organist at her church for over 49 years and a member for over 70 years.
Rose was born in Mineral Wells, Texas, to Lewis Augusta and Lucille Herrin Moore. Rose married Billy Joe Putteet in July 1951, in Granbury. She moved to Granbury in her Senior year in high school where her father served as Superintendent. She played the first basketball game at the Decker Gym in Granbury. Upon graduation, Rose studied at Tarleton University. It was not long before she married her sweetheart, Bill Putteet.
Rose was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to her family. She was a talented seamstress, homemaker, accomplished musician, volunteer, teacher, artist, floral designer, Granbury High Band volunteer and leader in her church and in the Cresson community. She led the way to ensure that Cresson and her ranch remained part of the city of Cresson. She was an officer and member of the Granbury Junior Woman’s Club as well as the Wednesday Women’s Club. In 1979, she was the recipient of Mother of the Year from the Granbury Junior Woman’s Club. Rose loved to travel, enjoyed her camping group and was the nucleus of her family. She never met a stranger, loved to play games, and was the life of the party at Waterview.
Rose is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Bill Putteet; parents, Lewis, and Lucille Moore.
Rose is survived by her son, Larry Putteet, and wife, Karin Putteet of Granbury and her daughter, Teena Putteet Conway, and her husband, Jerry Conway of Cresson. She had three grandchildren, Caroline Conway Elliott and husband, Coleman Elliott of Colleyville, Blake Conway of Cresson, and Cole Conway of Grapevine. She is survived by one great-grandchild, Campbell Elliott of Colleyville. She also was blessed with her two sisters, Johnowene Hall of Weatherford and Charla Jo White, and her husband, Ronnie White of Cross Plains. She was an aunt to special nieces and nephews and a friend to many.
