Mr. Manuel “Gene” Grant Jr.

Manuel “Gene” Grant, Jr. passed away surrounded by family on April 21, 2023 after a lengthy illness.

Celebration of Life:  3:00 PM, Friday, April 28, 2023, at Biggers Funeral Chapel, with visitation following the service.

He was a respected alumnus of Texas Christian University and South Texas College of Law, and had a successful career as an assistant District Attorney and co-founding the law firm Snodgrass, Sorensen and Grant. He was honored as the first Criminal District Magistrate, having been appointed in 1987. Gene was also known for his love of golf, hunting, fishing, and outdoor activities. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Michelle, his son Mikel and his wife April, and daughter Courtney, and five grandchildren Paityn, Mikel Jr, Logan, Jordan, and Mason. In addition, his shih tzu, Layla, who held a special place in his heart and will dearly miss him.  Gene will be remembered for his dedication, intelligence, and love for nature. May his memory inspire those who knew him.
