Mildred J. Laurent
- February 7, 2022
Mildred J. Laurent, 93, of Shiloh, Ohio passed away Saturday morning, February 5, 2022 at her home; she is now at peace with her Lord. She was born October 1, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan to John and Lillian Markie.
Mildred lived a life full of challenges in her 93 years. She traveled extensively throughout the United States while her husband was alive, and was an avid reader and was well-informed of the current news. Mildred worked a variety of jobs however, her greatest joy has been the last 16 years while she lived in the Ashland area, being close to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She babysat on a regular basis throughout her 80’s and enjoyed that “task” immensely. She dearly loved her dogs and always had at least one in her life.
She is survived by her children, Pam Stimpert, Bruce (Maria) Buren, Keith (Jane) Buren, Jill Ackerman and Michael Buren; grandchildren, Stacy (Corey) Watson, Amy (Jason) Bright, David (Allison) Stimpert and Aaron (Jen) Ackerman; great-grandchildren, Damien (Sabrina) Betts, Alexander Rohrbaugh, Nathan and Emma Betts, Andrew, Daniel and Lindsey Bright, Natalie, Robin, Dana and Sawyer Stimpert, Elleigh and Allie Ackerman, Elliott, Jeffrey and Marc Buren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Laurent; brother, John Markie; and aunts and uncles.
She was fiercely private and an independent woman. Per her wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. If you wish to honor her life, the family recommends a donation to Faith United Methodist Church, St. Rt. 96, Ashland, Ohio 44805, or to an animal shelter or cause close to your heart.
